How I can extend the cable to a set of LED lights for my car?
I have a set of LED lights that go on my car and the cable isn't enough long. I opened to enlarge the wire and what I found was a red wire connects to a switch and a green wire connected to a diode. Is it safe lenth cable? and how do I do? I put the new cables in place and connect the other end to red and green? sepperate or just another cable in the same place they are? or red and green are sheilded seperatly is that a "yes" to a cable or two separate cables? i probably should add that I had to open a cigarette adapter to arrive these cables, and within two cables out of a shield
Hold the phone please! I used to think of other cable cutting and derivation in his place power of the flashlight, it can lengthen the cables of lights purchased. Now, let's not half of A $ $ ed right? Otherwise, you will regreat it big. Take you to Radio Shack and get a bit of wire on the same color as what is coming out of the lights. Now, cut about a half inch wire cable shielding bought (BTW, you have to measure the amount needed for the car, then take another two inches for good measure) on both ends. The lights should now be on the same and exposed for use, if not, remove what you need and nothing more. Using basic welding flux, welding wire for extra light wiring. Cover with some plastic liqiud wire available at any good auto parts store and let dry. Describing how the wires of the lights is that they are just two different cables that were shaped by injection together. just gently pull them apart to separate them before use. If you are naked (not plastic) wire, ditch them for those who are anything but run-coated the risk of a short elecrtic the whole car. Not only can you blow every fuse in this way, you can possibly cause a power surge and cause the battery the battery to explode! I've seen this happen a few times and not very pretty, so be careful please!
