Keep following Total Gym 1700 DVD or switch to a program in the book?
So I’ve been working out using the Total Gym 1700 DVD, it seems well rounded and works a lot of different muscles. I’m doing warmups, strength training, circuit training, strength training again, and then cooldown.
I looked at the book recently and it seems to have programs where on certain days you excercise certain parts of your body, some with circuit, some with reps.
If I’m looking to build muscle all around my body, and not just in a couple spots, do you think I should stick with the DVD programs instead of doing the specific muscle groups on certain days thing? Will they both practically do the same job?
If the program that you are doing is working…..don’t mess with it.
Just make sure that you are giving your muscles sufficent time to recover between workouts. They should have at least 48 hours between strength workouts….SO if you are doing a general overall strength training workout like the one in the 1700 DVD you should not be doing it daily. If you want to work out daily then you would need to look at the book so that you can vary the focus of your workout to provide adequate rest time between workouts. IE work the upper body one day and the lower body the next.
